Balances will be updated at 9:00 am, 11:00 am, 1:00 pm, 4:00 pm, 6:15 pm. There are daily limits on debit cards. Wyochem has elected to have limits at $500.00 for ATM withdrawals and $1000.00 for purchases. These limits are in place to protect you and limit the number of fraudulent transactions. If you know that you will be spending more than that, let us know so we can temporarily raise the limit on your card.
Fraud happens every day, Wyochem limits the chances by instilling the limits, and beginning July 25, 2012 a new real time scoring model. The model assigns a score to all transactions incorporating the following:
If a card authorization comes through that does not look “normal” which simply means follows your normal spending habits, you may get a call from a STAR customer service agent asking if you did indeed make the purchase…if it’s you then you can go about your business as usual…if NOT…then a block will be placed on the card and you will be advised to call us as soon as possible. IF they can not reach you and another suspicious transaction comes through, your card may be blocked until we can get in touch with you. If your card transaction is denied, it is often embarrassing and very inconvenient…to prevent this from happening to you, make sure we have updated phone numbers on your account.
If you receive a phone call and the caller tries to ask for your card number, social security number, PIN Number, or any other identifying personal information, hang up. This may be a SCAM. If you have any concerns, call the credit union. Our fraud department has all the personal information on file that they need.
